Simple and sweet, this movie is based on the classic book by Dr. Seuss about an elephant who hears a cry from a mote of dust. The cry that Horton the elephant (played by Jim Carrey) hears, is one for help. Horton gives the speck a hand and discovers that it is the home of the Whos, living in the city of Whoville. Horton decides to protect these people, bringing torment on himself from his neighbors, who don’t believe that anyone could live on the speck. That’s the long and short of an entertaining, well-made CGI film that seeks to prove that “a person is a person, no matter how small.”
