Alex Haley’s Queen stars Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry in the role of Queen, the daughter of a plantation owner and a slave woman named Easter. Queen, a mulatto woman living in the antebellum South is light enough to pass for white. She is relentless as she searches for her place in both the black and white worlds, while defying the segregation and prejudice that colored people are faced with during the Civil War and Reconstruction era. An eight-time Emmy-nominated television miniseries, Queen was the last work from its creator, Alex Haley, who died before its release. It also co-stars NAACP Image Awards Hall of Famer, the late Ossie Davis, Danny Glover and Jasmine Guy. Queen is a two-disc set. –yvette caslin
