Until I saw Maneater, I didn’t realize that it’s been almost eight years since I last saw Gary Busey in a movie — Soldier. Apparently, he’s been pretty busy though during this time with the majority of his movies just under the radar. In Maneater, Busey plays a small- town sheriff with a big-town problem. It seems that a Bengal tiger is on the loose using the townsfolk as dinner. As the body count rises and word of the deaths spread, the town becomes the center of a media circus. Soon, Sheriff Grady (Busey) has his hands full just trying to keep everyone alive. There are a few unbelievable moments as the tiger performs a few silent ninja-like kills, but for the most part, it’s great seeing Busey do his thing again. He’s always been one of the more watchable actors in Hollywood. –dark abyss
