How She Move is the grammatically incorrect title of this urban-themed film about a young woman who escapes the harshness of her inner-city background by attending a private school. Raya Green’s (Rutina Wesley) life changes when her sister’s drug-related death depletes her family’s coffers, and she is forced to return home. In a somewhat stereotypical turn, Raya comes back to the crime-laden milieu of home and there she regains a passion for step dancing. This is a rather kinetic motion picture, so those who get into the action of bodies moving will be pleased. Creating an award-winning drama was clearly not a concern for the film’s makers. R&B starlet Keyshia Cole portrays herself herself in the film. –forrest green III
