Overture Films
Leave it to a heist movie directed by the screenwriter of Thelma & Louise, Callie Khouri, to help unite Queen Latifah, Katie Holmes and that icon of American cinema, Diane Keaton. The three actresses play employees of the Federal Reserve who scheme to steal a lot of money that’s scheduled to be destroyed. Keaton’s character Bridget Cardigan has the motive, while Latifah’s Nina Brewster has the means, leaving Holmes’ Jackie Truman with the “moves.” The women have moving chemistry together. Since this is a comedy, it seems that a Set It Off or Dead Presidents outcome won’t be in order, but who’s to say … really? Ted Danson also takes part in the cinematic shenanigans. –forrest green III
