Madness, lust, deceit… all words that pretty much sum up the movie, The House of Usher. Loosely based on Edgar Allan Poe’s classic short story, the movie updates the tale a bit, but still manages to capture its impending creepiness. It begins with Jill Masters being asked to return to Rick Usher’s estate after the death of her best friend. Soon after her arrival, Jill learns that her ex-lover is suffering from a strange illness. This is the first of many revelations Jill has about the Usher family and, as you may guess, none of them are good. The DVD features the standard fare of deleted scenes and commentary from the filmmaker. - dark abyss
