CEO, DBL Multimedia Group
Donna Brooks Lucas was a corporate veteran, however in the late ‘80s, she decided to make a career change.
“After spending 15 years in corporate America, I started my business in 1990,” she explains. Lucas founded DBL Multimedia Group in Chicago, a public relations and marketing company working for Fortune 500 companies.
A longtime member of the Executive Leadership Council, Lucas helped develop the organization’s identity. She’s committed to providing a road map for future entrepreneurs and corporate executives to follow.
“It was very important for us, as we developed, to have a firm identity that we wanted to portray,” she says of the ELC. “I was the architect of that. I feel that [ELC has] really grown and increased, but we always remember who we are and that we have a conscience. We always have to reach back to bring the next generation to where we are today — and [beyond].”
As an entrepreneur, Lucas explains that her key to success could be summed up in one word: relationships.
“I have relationships that I’ve maintained since the 1980s,” she says. “I believe in relationships. I’m a referral business. I work with people that I respect and our values mesh.” –todd williams
