For communications specialist and motivational speaker Karen Dumas, the art of multitasking is an area that she has mastered, and done so with grace and poise. “Busy beats broke,” Dumas asserts playfully. “I am a columnist for the Michigan Chronicle and Michigan Front Page. I am host of two radio shows on WRCJ. I am the co-host with Art Blackwell of the “Art Blackwell” [radio] show that’s heard daily on WGPR, and I host a television show for the city of Detroit, and I still have my own PR firm, which I’ve had since 1988.”

Dumas’ candid commentaries lend heavily to making her a well received authority with respect to delivering “news you can use.” “My passion lies in communications, and in sharing information and resources that I think will help enable and empower other people,” she says.

Network with other women. [They] are probably the strongest resources because they understand and are sensitive to things that are unique to women business owners. Stay focused and just do it.
