There aren’t many people who can claim that they have a street dedicated to them, but after four years of planning and building Woodlawn Estates, Stephanie Kennedy has definitely earned the right to have her name brandished on the property.

Nestled at the corner of Atlanta’s historic Simpson Road and Woodlawn Ave., Woodlawn Estates’ luxurious townhomes are just minutes from the heart of downtown. At half the price of their Buckhead and Midtown competitors, the Woodlawn properties offer equal, if not better amenities in the 2,800 square-foot residences. Kennedy and Knoxville-based builder, Jeff Wood, came up with an idea for building luxury estates four years ago.

“Simpson Road has such a long history ... but there hasn’t been a new development on Simpson Road in a very long time,” says Kennedy. “This is going to bring new dollars into the Simpson Road corridor, which I hope will help with better police patrol, and with other builders and developers really sparking an interest in coming into the Simpson Road corridor.”

Kennedy hopes that the construction of prestigious homes will help erase the stain connected to the once proud historic neighborhood, as well as bring additional development to the Simpson Road corridor. “People carry these negative thoughts when they think about Simpson Road, but when [you] sit here on this hill and look out of the window, you really see how quiet it is.
