Chances are you’ve seen Chundria and Nekia before. As the founders and hosts of Flair TV, the Chicago natives are busy attending the most exclusive events in the city and interviewing the who’s who of the entertainment industry.
What started in October 2007 as a meeting of two like-minds at a local Starbucks has blossomed into a full-fledged multimedia force. Today, Flair TV and its hosts are known for providing insightful and genuinely funny dialogue with their on-air guests, but the creators will tell you, they weren’t an instant hit.

“We were new on the scene ­— you know we had to take our baby steps,” Nekia says. “People were kind of skeptical. But now that they know us, have seen our work [and] see us everywhere, they’re very receptive.”

“I just think it’s that energy that we bring as far as on screen,” Chundria says of what separates them from other on-air personalities. “We’re goof balls. We’re just making our guests feel like we’re at the house, at a get together, having a good time.”

Now, with a growing audience, it seems the whole city is behind the self-proclaimed “Toffee Twins.” Whether they’re highlighting prominent city officials or sharing culinary secrets with Robin Thicke, there’s no particular résumé for their guests.

“The notion behind ‘Flair’ is that you’ve got that thing that makes people notice you and all that comes from your hard work that you put into it,” Nekia says. “We want to identify people that are passionate about whatever it is that they do.” –gavin philip godfrey
