When Regina Moore was looking to shed a few pounds to restore her schoolgirl figure, she never imagined that it would evolve into the business venture of her dreams. The fast results she experienced as a patron of a friend's Curves franchise made Moore want to start a location of her own to help all women meet their fitness goals. Today she's the owner of a Curves Fitness Center located in Chicago's South Loop area. "I like the idea that Curves is helping women," she says, "It's empowering women and I think by helping and empowering them and giving them the tools and resources they need to empower themselves, [the women] can go out there and empower their children, their husbands and their family members.
" Always stressing the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, Moore's Curves focuses on resistance training and offers abs classes every other month for women because she knows firsthand which exercises women are less likely to do on their own. "One of the most important keys to exercising is becoming lean and also changing their eating habits - not going on a diet, but actually changing the way they eat just by making vMoore wants personal fitness to be fun and easy for women everywhereery small changes to what they're doing is very important when it comes to women's health and exercise," explains Moore.
Moore wants personal fitness to be fun and easy for women everywhere, so she is especially pleased that Curves will soon be adding a new feature to the workout lineup called Smart Equipment, which will function as a personal trainer.- jason thompson
