When large companies or corporations need a dependable source for ordering gifts for clients, Bridgeforth Wolf & Associates, Inc. is among the first to be requested. As VP of customer service for the corporate gift firm that her older sister founded in 1987, Eve Bridgeforth has been establishing relationships with large corporations including US Cellular and Exxon Mobile, providing a service that's not always easy to find. "We're the middle person between our clients and the manufacturer, so our clients really don't see us that often," explains Bridgeforth. "We're a very tiny firm, so it's really important for us to be put in front of bigger corporations." Now with the company for nine years, Bridgeforth has seen tremendous growth with the black female-owned firm that has locations in Chicago and D.C. As much as she revels in her company's upward trajectory, Bridgeforth indicated that she receives as great a great sense of accomplishment in imparting success principles to young girls. "I'm also in the Big Sister program, so I think it's good to show to African American girls that you can have your own business and company and do things for yourself, because a lot of things have changed in the last 20 years," says Bridgeforth. "I feel good about being in the position where I can showcase my talents and then be able to share what I've learned so far with someone who's younger than me." - jason thompson
