Two people each pay $700 per month for their home. When tax season arrives, Person A receives thousands of dollars more than Person B, because A owns her home while B only rents. "I was a tax accountant first," says Pearl Jones, founder of Pearl Realty. "[Pearl Realty is] different, because we educate. We take the time to hold educational workshops for the public to make them aware of the process that it takes to become a real estate investor and what it takes to become a homeowner."

Pearl Realty is Charlotte's leading agency, having built their brand through their signature workshops. "When people come to our office, we want them to be able to apply for a mortgage on the spot," explains Jones. "If they have problems with their credit, we want them to be able to start the credit restoration process, so that they can be in a position to buy a home." Each credit restoration period is different, so Jones and her staff take the time to educate their clients on all that it entails.

"The average [time for restoration] is 6 to12 months." says Jones. "It can jump 100 points within that timeframe. You have to stay on top of it constantly to make sure you get it corrected." Pearl Realty is also looking to expand their team. "We are looking for good, professional, top producing agents," says Jones. "We welcome everybody who's looking to relocate to the Charlotte area or someone who wants to relocate just across town. We're here for you." - adam jones
