Manager, Sponsorships and Diverse Markets, Ford Motor Company
Crystal Greene has a knack for forging mutually beneficial relationships. As manager of sponsorships and diverse markets for Ford Motor Company, her ability to create corporate synergy is more than just a gift, it’s a blessing and a passion.
“[I handle] anything from working on a Chris Brown tour, to working on a cause marketing initiative with ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ — all kinds of stuff,” she explains. “[I work in] diverse markets, [which] include cause, youth/college and African American marketing efforts.”
Ford’s legacy as one of the most recognized and revered brands in the country doesn’t mean that Greene and Ford Motor Company can afford to rest on their laurels when it comes to marketing.
“Our economy levels the playing field for everybody, so regardless of the fact that we’ve been around for 100 years or involved with the African American community for [years], you can’t take things for granted. Just being American-made doesn’t mean as much as it used to say, 10 years ago,” says Greene. “We have to continue to strive to make ourselves better and we have to communicate with each individual market. You have to do things that will resonate, and we understand the importance of that.”
And for someone with Greene’s skills, the job that she is called upon to perform for Ford couldn’t be more rewarding. “I have extreme gratification in this role, I’ve had a lot of empowerment,” she explains. “I’m trusted by leadership, [so] things that I’m passionate about and think [make] a great fit for Ford, I don’t have to do much selling [for]. Things like that make me extremely proud to do what I do.”
