Ashley Stewart is a brand to which customers feel connected. District manager Yolanda Sidney both understands and appreciates that bond. In fact, by getting involved in community programs, Sidney plays a key role in ensuring that customers know just how much Ashley Stewart values them.
“Getting involved in the community lets everyone know a little bit more about Ashley Stewart. A lot of people still don’t know what Ashley Stewart is,” she says. “We’re a plus-size store that starts at size 12 [and goes] to size 26. We cater to the urban community.”
Catering to the urban community has put Ashley Stewart at the forefront of that demographic, and Sidney works hard to make sure that they stay there.
“My daily activities [involve] supervising several stores out of the 300 that the company has,” she explains. “I [help] maintain the visual merchandising and partner with store managers on hiring, marketing and customer service. The number one thing in our stores is customer service.”
That dedication to customer service is what drives Sidney, and she hopes the customers appreciate the commitment.
“I love seeing our ladies leave happy,” she says with a smile. “I love getting them dressed up. [We’re] dressing [our] customers and they’re leaving happy and coming back repeatedly to shop with us.”
