Latrecia Antwine’s future was staring at her in the mirror. But it took the plus-sized beauty a while to recognize it … “I’m a plus-sized woman. Throughout my childhood, I always had issues with confidence. … Once I got my confidence, I wanted to share it with other ladies,” says Antwine. Known as “Nikki the Unique Stylist,” Antwine wanted to spread her confidence to the women around her. She knew that she could provide an outlet for plus-sized women who wanted to show the world their beauty.

With the help and support of her family, Antwine has put her heart and soul into building the Size Sexy Divas organization.

“The only challenges I’ve really [faced include] finding that perfect group of ladies to work with and making people aware of our organization and name,” says the founder and CEO. “Sometimes people will look at the Size Sexy Diva name and they won’t realize the empowerment behind the name. We had to let them know [that empowerment] is what we’re about.” The Size Sexy Divas made their debut to the world at a special benefit for HIV/AIDS awareness at the Power Center in Houston.

“We [did the event] to make the community aware,” says Antwine. “It [was] our first major event, so it was really the show to put us on the market and let people know that we’re here.” -todd williams
