President and CEO, Triad Business Solutions
Themelie Bush defines grace under fire. Not only does the busy executive and mother of four, manage to operate her own high-tech company, hold an executive position with another, sit on the board of several professional associatons, teach a small business development course, bring home the bacon and fry it up in the pan — she insists on making time for the niceties in life. “The simple courtesies are disappearing,” laments Bush. “How you do anything, is how you do everything.”
Bush is president and CEO of Triad Business Strategies, a company she formed in 2006 to specialize in business software and business strategy solutions. Through its alliances and partnerships, Triad provides everything from Web site design and print services to sophisticated project management services for companies from health care organizations and nonprofits to government entities. “We have to change the process by educating people in business to be more receptive to changing how they conduct business,” she says.
The human dynamo and Tuskegee University graduate says, “The number of women entering the high technology field is declining. It’s important to educate women and bring them into the fold.”
A member of numerous philanthropic organizations, the confessed history buff attributes her success and work ethic to her family. “My grandfather came here from Puerto Rico and got his start in apartment housing ... which later led to providing senior housing. I’m restoring my own historic home, and one of my crowning glories is the hand-stuccoed ceiling that I did myself,” she says.
“Be sure to acquire and develop the tools to help you understand how to [regularly] reinvent yourself. You are constantly selling yourself in everything you do,” Bush advises.
