Managing Director, Chap Lofts
“Why hotel when you can loft” is the distincive theme of one of Detroit’s newest and most unique visitor accomodations. The Chap Lofts offer a spectacular urban retreat on Grand Boulevard just east of Woodward Avenue. The spacious, 1,000-square-foot designer units provide a lot more room than the standard hotel and offer premier amenities.
“The concept is right for business travelers looking for alternatives to extended stay hotels or groups visiting the Detroit area for conventions,” says Apryl Edwards, managing director of the Lofts.
Edwards, a realtor and Detroit’s unofficial ambassador of congeniality is a world traveler and explains that many of the Lofts more Euro-chic features are an end-product of her stays abroad. “The Lofts are an urban spin with a Detroit flair on boutique hotels,” explains Edwards “While some of our upscale services include private chefs, in-room kitchens, and fully stocked [honor] bars, our staff enhances your stay by making every effort to meet the specific needs of our guests.”
The 12-unit hotel is a converted adaption of one of the city’s most recognizable and memorable landmarks, the old Packard Building. The original maple hardwood floors and exposed inner brick walls have been preserved to keep its timeless character.
The Chap Lofts’ developers were mindful of the real estate adage ‘location, location, location.’ The luxurious and intimate lodging is located in the heart of the New Center Area and in close proximity to shopping, night life and restaurants, as well as just minutes away from the famed Fisher Theatre.
“We’re more than a hotel, it’s an exciting experience intended to get you to return to us and Detroit every chance you get,” Edwards affirms.
