President and Founder, Beauty Technik Cosmetics

Necessity is the mother of invention. Natasha Iwebgu founder of Beauty Technik cosmetics is living proof of that quaint bit of homespun wisdom. She founded Beauty Technik after discovering a dearth of healthy, natural and pure beauty products on the shelves. “I love having that finished, polished look that makeup gives you. After I got married, my husband and I started trying [to have] a baby, and I wanted to detox, so I went about figuring out how to do that,” says Iwegbu. “I wanted to start using natural products on my skin. I looked at the label [on] my makeup and I found out that all of the terrible things that you shouldn’t be putting on your skin were right there on the label, so I had a big dilemma.”

Founding Beauty Technik, a brand that uses all-natural ingredients that are effective for a broad spectrum of complexions, solved her problem. Growing up in Britain the daughter of a Russian mother and Nigerian father, Iwegbu recalled how difficult it was to find beauty products that fit her particular skin tone. “When I was younger I couldn’t find shades for my complexion and I remember feeling extremely left out,” she admits. “It was important for me to create shades for all complexions.”

Now, Iwegbu has built one of the most in-demand cosmetic companies on the market — and things are only beginning. Beauty Technik is built on giving people what they want and making sure they understand that the brand is for them. “You have to have a first-class product and it has to be something you believe in,” she says. “And you have to tie as many people into your success as you can.” -–todd williams
