Vice President of Government Affairs, CompuCredit Corporation

The impact that CompuCredit Corporation has had on the lives of many Americans with less than stellar credit is quite impressive. As vice president of government affairs for the specialty finance company, Denise Harrod has had a hand in building a unique business model that helps people improve their credit scores.

A proud sponsor of this year’s Wall Street Project Economic Summit, Harrod is happy to be working alongside Rev. Jesse Jackson in a collaborative effort to assist those who are underserved by traditional financial institutions.

“Although CompuCredit doesn’t provide mortgage services, CompuCredit does feel an obligation to help in this regard. Even though people have had the opportunity to refinance their mortgages, they’re still faced with the negative credit reporting that comes as a result of their inability to satisfy those mortgage loans,” explains Harrod. “CompuCredit will be issuing a press release announcing a new [and] exceptional program for the company, where [for] any new customer applying with CompuCredit for credit products and services, we will back out all negative mortgage info as a result of any of the subprime mortgage programs that customers may have entered into.”

Harrod is ecstatic about the idea of making a change in so many people’s lives.“We want to provide an opportunity for people to receive credit products and services at fair, just and reasonable prices, since pricing is based upon your credit score,” she says. –jason thompson
